Re: My Del Sol - It's time to get serious!
haha cheers for the comments guys, you're right I do need new plates and it could have been a lot worse so thats some silver lining at least. Shame its such a big cloud!
At least the recovery people paid for the storage fees, which I've been told was over 700euros! I'll let them off for taking their sweet time for that
Use of the unit would be awesome mate, need to arrange towage also. i'm off work for a week from this friday so any day anyone is free to offer towing services would be muchly appreciated and a beer or two would flow your way! If I could get towed to the unit via Densley's that would also be extremely awesome!
I'm driving to Notingham on Tuesday to collect some parts for the car and I have a spare seat in the van I'm hiring, if anyone wants a day trip let me know!

Well I've just bought this off ebay for around 300 quids
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=330332976469
Not too bad, Im undecided whether to reshell my car, or strip this one for bits and then sell the rest... Any opinions?

When you say reshell do you mean swap your bits onto that?
Defo a good idea mate!

Re: My Del Sol - It's time to get serious!
That's precisely what I mean
I can just see that being a headache with paperwork and insurance peoples. Plus It's a shame to see the glorious bodywork of my sol go to waste... I dont want to spend the money getting rid of the rust on this one aswell!
But It would be easier, and probably cheaper than trying to fix my car...

Re: My Del Sol - It's time to get serious!
makes sense to reshell it, will cos the same weather u reshell urs and pay to get the rust sorted or pay to get all the panels from the blue one done red. but u know the blue ones going to be straight? cant see insurance being more than insuring the vti tbh.

Re: My Del Sol - It's time to get serious!
for dave, he's never on :-
It now has an MOT, so should be on the road, still needs the right steering pump on though, other than that shes a winner

Re: My Del Sol - It's time to get serious!
Yeah, she passed her MOT, just needs taxing. Got a new pump but the hose doesnt connect up as it's for the D series pump which is currently in there. And I'll feel a lot safer when I get the brakes properly sorted...
Still, could be worse!
