Hi (another Marshalls boy)
Hey all, I'm Martin, I work at Marshalls Land Rover, some of you may have seen my red Defender about the place.
My other car (the reason I'm on this forum) is my green Ax, bought about 6 months ago (for £100) as a little runaround as the Landy was costing too much on fuel to use every day. Well, insuring both cars was becoming a false economy and I found myself using the Landy more and more just cos the little Citroën was so boring to drive, so I took it back off the road.
A mate bought it off me, put alloys and decent tyres on it from his old rusted Ax, changed the driveshafts as the originals were rattling, then ran out of enthusiasm. £20 later and it was back on my drive. I wanted to do something with it as it was too good to scrap and I could see potential...
A few weeks later my girlfriends mum gave me her rotten old Zx diesel, and I negotiated a swap for a Saxo VTR engine, gearbox and ancillaries. Fitted it, just waiting for the wiring loom to be converted and it should be a right little ripper Styling-wise I wanted to go for something a bit fun, as the panels, being 15 years old and made of coke cans, were a bit scruffy. I didn't want to spend out on getting rid of dents etc so I am going for a sort of rally-rat/old-school boy racer look (will post pics up tomorrow)
Anyway hopefully it'll be back on the road for summer, can't wait
Cheers guys, bloody hell I've rabbitted.
Martin

Re: Hi (another Marshalls boy)
Hey Martin, welcome.
I used to own AX's. I had a 1.0 5dr as my first car in fact. After that I owned an AX GT500 and a MK2 AX GT.
Awesome cars the GT's. Reliability was poo but no other 1.4 would touch it.
I still lurk on the ax owners club forums funnily enough. VTS conversions has been the "in" thing to do for the last few years. Lots of potential that'll put a saxo to shame.

Re: Hi (another Marshalls boy)
Cheers guys, yeah I was thinking VTS but a free engine seemed good. All in all the car and conversion has cost less than £250 so it's not something I'm going to pour money into, it's just a laugh. I'm on AXOC too (debut954) but jeeeesus they take it seriously...

Cheers for the welcomes people :-)
Ian, does your prelude have a cabletie-racing sticker on it? Someone round the back of Marshalls has one on their car... There's a green Civic hatchback too?
